• Patriots (Americans) + French empire 

                                                                        vs 

                                                                               English (British) + Loyalists (i.e. Americans in support of British government)

• Very few Loyalists (near about 20%), huge mass of Patriots (about 80%)

•  People living in colonies of America were called colonists.

                                                        Therefore, colonists = patriots + loyalists

• Native Americans were called "Red Indians" at that time.

	1492	Christopher Columbus reached West-Indies, his boat was sponsored by Spain king of Spain
16th and 17th		Spain, France and England at last colonized America
17th and 18th	1607 - 1732	13 English Colonies were established by England, each colonies had different governers and used to rule in different ways

		Why were those colonies established, developed and governed by England? - For the benefit of England
18th	1754-1763	7 years war, France was defeated from their colonies by England
		France allied with Huron (one tribe of native American)
		Britain allied with Iroquois (next tribe of native American)
		War ended with Treaty of Paris (1763)
18th	1765	American revolution began
